I'll also add this is the primary AC game I've played.

  • Granted, there are Animal Crossing Bells some things I find time-consuming, but it's nothing others haven't discussed at length already - quantities if buying/crafting, more variety of interaction with villagers - but these matters are not deal breakers for me.

Edit: I'll also add this is the primary AC game I've played.

I love New Leaf. Likely 300+ hours inside. New horizons stinks for me since the crafting is restricting and dull, breakable tools are bullshit, qr codes are all secured behind internet, and it seems just like a grindy mobile game--with the corner miles particularly. Additionally, the fan base could be. . .intense, in polite words.

The game is quite much"do whatever you want as long as you do it this way". The previous games had more liberty.

Sorry I do not have a favorable review for youpersonally, but hopefully I outlined my motives more clearly than"just dull"

I like the game. I believe if they genuinely mean they mean to evolve the match, rather than do the BS which GameFreak does using Pokemon(where they include a brand new mechanic but remove so much that it feels like a step backwards), then I'm excited about that.

The game does have some serious shortcomings that need to be addressed in the next iteration in order for it to be a guaranteed buy from me, though. Villagers are the big one. The personality types are too indistinguishable, and we need variations on each and every character (eg Snooty Villager A is a sass queen who is more inclined to create lines about how'quaint' the decoration she's alongside is, even while Snooty Villager B is a art-lover who is more inclined to generate a line about the artistic values of the decoration). It is odd to to have two villagers with the exact same character, and it inevitably makes one feel like a third-wheel because you don't think they're as cute as the other is. Similarly, we just plain need more lines for every villager type since the replica actually kills the illusion of those animals being your friends. There's also not much you can do with them. It'd be nice to have the ability Buy Nook Miles Ticket to, say, invite them to your house or tell them to meet you at the memorial in one hour or something.
